Connecting with the Family

"That day about three thousand took him at his word, were baptised and were signed up. They committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the common meal, and the prayers. Everyone around was in awe—all those wonders and signs done through the apostles! And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person's need was met. They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved."

Acts 2:41-47 (The Message)

The church in the book of Acts from day 1 was thousands in attendance. They were committed to growing bigger through evangelism and smaller by developing lifelong personal friendship with other Christians, usually in one another’s homes. In a growing church even of only hundreds it is very easy after the initial excitement to get lost in the crowds.

For that reason we’re committed to helping you get connected to others with whom you can develop friendships.

There are several main ways in which you’ll get to know others.

In the first instance, by joining a small group you’ll get to meet others at various stages in their walk with Jesus and as well as helping one another follow him you’ll find a great bunch of friends to meet with socially.

After you’ve connected and are part of a small group why not start to find your niche by serving in the church. Join one of our ministry teams which is a great way of building a wider circle of friends as well as showing God’s love in many ways, from serving coffee to praying for others’ needs.

“If a man wants to have friends, let him show himself friendly” (Pr. 18:24)

There’s no better way to get to know people than making the first step, welcoming those who come across your path in church and life.
