DAY 1 // PERSISTENCE AND EXPECTANCY

“even to your old age I am he, and to grey hairs I will carry you.

I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.” - Isaiah 46:4

Isaiah 46:4 says, "even to your old age and grey hairs, I am He who will carry you" some prayers are answered quickly, some take longer and more perseverance, but NEVER should we give up praying. Even those not yet answered I am certain will be according to God’s will because He is faithful to His word. God's word is always a good place to start. Lining up what you are praying for with God's word is a great beginning. In nearly 40 years of praying, here’s 3 scriptures that have really encouraged me:

1. Luke 18:1-8: Jesus tells this parable encouraging persistence in prayer,

and not give up or growing tired of asking.

2. Matthew 7:7-11: Here Jesus is encouraging us to ask the Father God

for what we need because He wants to answer our prayers.

3. Psalm 5:3: This verse encourages us to lay our requests before the Lord and wait expectantly. Not doubting but sure God will hear us.

This gives us a great way to approach praying:

  • Be persistent in prayer. Don't give up because prayers are not always answered immediately.
  • Pray knowing God wants to answer us.
  • Pray expectantly with faith because the Lord hears our prayers.
Pray today:
  • Which prayers are you tempted to give up on? Thank God that he has heard every prayer and be encouraged to bring them to Him again today.
  • What will you commit to pray for each day over these next 10 days? Write them down and let’s believe we will see answers across the church!
