How wonderful that the God of the universe, the King of kings and Lord of Lords should want to talk to us. There is an open invitation, an urging from the Lord Himself to call to Him, with the promise that He will answer. What could be more beautiful, more compelling? He gives us the expectation of a deeper, personal relationship with Him, when all we need to do is to call upon Him. We can expect to hear His whisper in the everyday, His words of calm in the darkest of situations, His pleasure in His children, His laughter with us and His thundering might as we stand in His authority.
Yet even more, He promises to tell us wonderful and marvellous things that we know nothing about, words of knowledge that reveal His heart for us and for those we meet, words of wisdom in whatever circumstances we find ourselves.
Prophetic intercession becomes a joy as we partner with God to hear what He wants us to do. It flows from a heart of love. God wants us to respond to this challenge of hearing Him and acting on what He says. Based on His promises over us, we can expect revelation from Him. We can expect to see miracles when we stand in His authority, in laying on of hands to see our friend healed, or to speak His words of salvation to our family, instead of looking over our shoulder to see who else can be the one the Lord uses to bring these miracles to pass.
Why not us? Why not now? Why not here?
“Lord, help me not to wait until I feel qualified, but to trust in You for the good plans you have for me to do the things which you have called me to do. Help me to hear clearly, the wonderful and marvellous things that I know nothing about. Thank You Lord!”
